The Fall HRC dinner and program will be held at Road America on Thursday September 17. The event will include a chance to do a Sunset Cruise in your own car on the racecourse; members are encouraged to bring a “sporty” car to enjoy the Sunset Cruise. Following the Sunset Cruise will be a cash bar and a sumptuous Wisconsin buffet dinner from Millhome Supper Club in the Tufte Center. Following the dinner will be the evenings program presented by Pat Jeffords son of racing legend Jim Jeffords. Pat will share family stories and racing memories of his father.

As you know, Jim Jeffords, along with Augie Pabst and William “Bill” Wuesthoff, was the elite trio of very successful sports car drivers from the Milwaukee SCCA Region. Jeffords won back-to-back National Championships in 1958 and 1959 and raced in the great road races around the world and raced with and against the most famous American drivers of his era. He even shared Cuban cigars with Fidel Castro and danced the tango under the observant eye of Juan Peron. Jim is enshrined in the SCCA and the Corvette Halls of Fame and was the longest sitting Board member for Road America! After listening to Pat, I guarantee you will want to purchase the latest book on Jim Jeffords written by acclaimed racing author Bob Birmingham…. “Jim Jeffords—A Racing Natural.”  You don’t want to miss this one!

The complete agenda for the evening events is as follows:

4:15 PM – Members arrive at Gate 6 at Road America, sign the waiver, follow the HRC signs up the hill to the HRC designated parking area which is the area west of Victory Lane across from the Paddock Shop.

4:45 PM – Drivers Meeting for the Sunset Cruise Participants run by longtime SCCA racer and HRC Board Member Mike Froh.

5:15 PM – Sunset Cruise Laps Begin. Enter track on North side of tunnel.

5:30 PM – Entry allowed at Gate 6 for all HRC Members and Guests for the Cash Bar and Dinner Event.

– Tufte Center Opens/Cash Bar Opens –

5:45 PM – Sunset Cruise Laps End.

7:00 PM – Buffet Dinner in the Tufte Center followed by the Program by Pat Jeffords.

9:00 PM – At the Conclusion of the dinner event exit through Gate 6 and have a good evening.
